Zac Taylor very pleased with debuts of Amarius Mims and Kris Jenkins

The two rookies made a splash in their first NFL action.

NFL: SEP 23 Commanders at Bengals

While the defense is struggling, the Cincinnati Bengals are finally coming together on the offensive line.

Rookie Amarius Mims made his season debut on Monday, and he clearly impressed his coach, Zac Taylor, who said he was “really proud” of how he started and called the big right tackle “poised” and “impressive.”

And Sports Illustrated’s Mike Santagata confirmed that Mims looked mature beyond his years in a primetime game.

In other good news, rookie defensive tackle Kris Jenkins also lived up to his coach’s expectations and showed “really positive things.”

The big man from Michigan only had one tackle, but it was a big one.

Hopefully, those two will help the Bengals win the trenches this Sunday when they face Andy Dalton and the Carolina Panthers. We preview that game below.
