Recap: The Golden Knights headed to Colorado for a national TV preseason game against the Avs. Colorado scored quickly with a power play goal but Vegas stormed back before the period was over with a double deflection goal from Tanner Pearson and then a delayed penalty tally from Brendan Brisson.
VGK’s success would continue in the 2nd period as Zach Aston-Reese finished off a slick passing sequence from Jakub Brabenec and Pavel Dorofeyev. The Golden Knights held a two goal lead heading into the final frame.
Vegas kept pouring it on in the 3rd as Joe Fleming recorded his first-ever goal in a preseason game and Aston-Reese scored his second of the night. Finally, Tanner Laczynski added yet another goal to his strong preseason to push the lead to five.
The Golden Knights downed the Avalanche 6-1. These same teams will do it again on Thursday night, this time from T-Mobile Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM. (Recap by Ken)
Analysis: A lineup full of players not expected to make the roster went up against MacKinnon, Rantanen, and Makar, and not only fared well but outplayed the Avs as a whole. Good showing for the next men up that at many points during this season VGK will rely on. (Recap by Ken)
