Saints' Cam Jordan calls former coach a 'mad man scientist' in recent interview

Cameron Jordan has been a staple of the New Orleans Saints defense for quite some time. In 2024, he's expected to have a new role, playing inside a bit more often for the Saints defensive line.

The Saints will face off with Sean Payton's Denver Broncos in Week 7. How is Jordan feeling about the matchup? What's he most looking forward to against the long-time Saints HC?

Cam Jordan calls Pete Carmichael Jr. a 'mad man scientist'

Jordan notes that Payton and Carmichael will assuredly work hard to get a win against their former team. He knows that Saints veterans will also be determined to do the same.

The defender is definitely energetic and amped up for the opportunity to play against two coaches who have moved on in recent years. For Payton, he chose that route. It has not worked out well so far, but Payton has never lacked confidence.

For Carmichael, it was pushed upon him a bit more after the Saints chose a new route this offseason at offensive coordinator. Klint Kubiak steps in with plenty to prove.

Jordan comically pushed the idea that Saints fans should boo Payton

"I hope he gets booed... like how dare you go somewhere else."

The veteran pass rusher also discussed his Hall of Fame outlook. He sits at 117.5 sacks. Jordan believes that reaching 125 sacks solidifies anyone's chance at making it to Canton, Ohio.

Jordan certainly deserves the nod as the best pass rusher in Saints franchise history.
