Demario Davis dealing with groin injury after Week 3

Dennis Allen was vague when discussing Davis' injury. The star linebacker missed just eight snaps due to his injury, but that does not mean that he couldn't miss more time in the near future.

"He’s one that we’re evaluating..." -- Allen

The fact that Allen did not have a useful update yet points to potential testing that they are waiting on, as well as a practice status for the veteran linebacker. If Davis has to miss time, the Saints will start Willie Gay Jr. and Pete Werner at linebacker.

Dennis Allen addresses Erik McCoy's injury outlook

It’s a groin injury. I think we’re going through the evaluation process to see where he’s at - but yeah, we’ll probably have more information for you later.” -- Allen

The ailment is notable enough for some testing - it seems. He did not return after leaving early in the first quarter against Philly.

We will learn more about the two key players' statuses on the Wednesday injury report for the Saints. That will be the first true update ahead of their Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
