The Cardinals held their second practice of the week and got some welcomed injury news. Cornerback Max Melton, who was previously in concussion protocol, returned to practice and starting quarterback Kyler Murray was a full participant for the second day in a row. For the first time this season, Arizona has had all 53 players on their active roster practice in some capacity.
Here’s how the full injury report breaks down for both the Cardinals and Rams.
Did Not Participate
Cardinals
- No Players Listed
Rams
- OL Kevin Dotson (foot/ankle)
- CB Cobie Durant (toe)
- TE Davis Allen (back)
As stated on Wednesday’s injury report, the plan for the Rams is for starting right guard Kevin Dotson to play on Sunday. However, with two straight days of non-participation, that is in doubt. Los Angeles is already without their starting left tackle Alaric Jackson, who’s serving a two-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. They also lost replacement left tackle Joe Noteboom and left guard Steve Avila in their Week 1 loss to the Lions.
Limited Participation
Cardinals
- CB Max Melton (concussion)
- WR Xavier Weaver (oblique)
It’s a good sign for Max Melton to be finally out of concussion protocol and participating in practice. He was doing individual drills and donned a yellow non-contact jersey. Melton played 11 snaps in the Cardinals season opener on defense, the fourth most at the position.
Xavier Weaver was a limited participant for the second straight day, as he continues to progress from an oblique injury. Weaver missed the Cardinals’ Week 1 loss to the Bills.
Rams
- OL Rob Havenstein (foot/ankle)
- LB Christian Rozeboom (hip)
- S Quentin Lake (hip)
On the Rams’ list of limited players on the report is their starting right tackle and one of their starting linebackers. Quentin Lake is a new addition to the injury report, listed with a hip injury and a limited participant in practice. Coupled with their injuries on the offensive line, Havenstein’s availability is a story worth monitoring.
Full Participation
Cardinals
- QB Kyler Murray (knee)
Howard Balzer of Cards Wire reported that Murray practiced with a wrap around his injured knee. The Cardinals starting quarterback has been wearing that in both practices this week. As a full participant in practices, it would be a shock if he isn’t in the lineup when the Cardinals host the Rams on Sunday.
