On a night that was already going poorly for the Yankees, Jazz Chisholm Jr. gave them something else to worry about.
Two innings after diving head-first into home plate to score a run, Chisholm was replaced by a pinch-hitter as he left the game against the White Sox with a left elbow at Guaranteed Rate Field on Monday.
He will undergo imaging on Tuesday, the team announced.

Chisholm went into the plate leading with his left hand, with his left arm/shoulder appearing to take some of the brunt on the tag from catcher Korey Lee.
Before it became clear Chisholm was injured on the play, it had been the highlight of an otherwise dreary night for the Yankees.
Chisholm had singled and stole second with two outs before taking off for third on a pitch to Anthony Volpe, who hit a grounder to the hole at shortstop.

Chisholm never stopped running around third base and dove into home just ahead of the tag to pull the Yankees within 4-2.
Chisholm, who was 2-for-3 on the night, played third base for the next two innings before being pinch-hit for by Ben Rice in the seventh.
