Former Pro Bowler compares the 2024 New Orleans Saints offense to a certain type of girlfriend

The NFL world's jaw has dropped after two weeks of New Orleans Saints football. Their offense is firing on all cylinders, with no signs of slowing down as of yet. New Orleans enters Week 3 undefeated, and they are gaining respect.

Ryan Clark compares Saints offense to a girlfriend

"They say get you a girl that can do both. They show a woman in a business suit then in a jersey watching the game with you eating nachos. That's the Saints offense. The run game is the nacho eater... The pass game is exquisite, the pass game is upper echelon"

-- Former NFL DB Ryan Clark

The ESPN crew gave the Saints their flowers on Monday, including Clark. His comparison, while incredibly unique, makes a bit of sense if you really think about it.

The Saints are gritty upfront in the run game with Taliese Fuaga and Trevor Penning outside as young tackles. Those two are mauling defenders in the run game, while the interior has some of the highest blocking grade via Pro Football Focus in all of the NFL. They're using Taysom Hill as a key blocker, and his role is the definition of ugly but effective in football terms.

The passing game has been the most explosive in football in the first two weeks. Derek Carr has connected with Rashid Shaheed for multiple 50+ yard touchdowns, and the Saints pass catchers are using space to their advantage.

That space is being opened up with increased motion and play action. Those are the pillars of Klint Kubiak's play-calling, which i will touch more on below.

New Orleans' offense has been a true representative of complementary football, and Clark has noticed that, along with his fellow NFL analysts.

Former Saints QB Chase Daniel is a believer in Klint Kubiak

Daniel says that Kubiak was "cooking" against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. He wants to give the Saints play-caller the love he deserves instead of just bashing the Cowboys' struggles in Week 2.

Saints fans will appreciate that from the guy who backed up Drew Brees for multiple seasons in black and gold.

Daniel mentions many of the factors that set apart this year's scheme compared to last year's offensive play-calling in New Orleans. Motion, play action, multiple formations, and explosive plays are all massive difference makers in 2024.

The Saints offense looks like a completely different unit, with many of the same faces around it, like Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill, Derek Carr, Chris Olave, and Rashid Shaheed.

Chris Broussard names Derek Carr as top MVP candidate

The FOX Sports analyst named his top five candidates for a MVP ballot after two weeks of the 2024 NFL regular season. The Saints QB headlined the group, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield was right behind him.

Carr has been extremely efficient so far in the first two weeks. He's been clearly the most effective quarterback in football under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. He won't keep up this sort of pace, but he is absolutely the front runner for MVP so far this season.

The Saints (2-0) will face the Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) in Week 3.
