The prospects tournaments are typically not memorable affairs, and certainly not this season for the Vegas Golden Knights, who lack blue-chip prospects. However, one of the Golden Knights prospect defensemen exercised a little frustration Sunday afternoon.
Daniil Chayka, the Golden Knights’ 2021 second-round pick who has spent the last two seasons honing his stay-at-home game with the Henderson Silver Knights, dropped the gloves and connected on a few hard right hands against Seattle Kraken prospect Nathan Villeneuve.
Villeneuve, 18, was the Kraken’s 2024 second-round pick (63rd overall) from the Sudbury Wolves. The tale of the tape puts him at 6-foot, 199 pounds, and Chayka at 6-foot-2, 187 pounds.
Chayka gave Villeneuve a rude introduction to professional life. Thanks to Allyson Ballard for getting the video and giving VHN permission.
