The Boston Bruins have what it takes to be the best team in the Atlantic Division.
After losing several notable players this past offseason, many expected the Boston Bruins to take a notable step back in 2023-24. However, even with all of their offseason departures, the Bruins were once again one of the best clubs in the NHL.

The Bruins finished second in the Atlantic Division behind the Florida Panthers by just one point. Although this was a bridge year for the Bruins, it is fair to say that they exceeded expectations, and now they will look to build on it next season.
When looking at the Bruins’ offseason moves, it is fair to argue that they could end the campaign at the top of the Atlantic Division standings. While they lost players like Jake DeBrusk and Danton Heinen, they made some big splashes, adding Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov in free agency. Furthermore, even after trading Linus Ullmark, the Bruins have a surging Jeremy Swayman who should thrive as the club’s true No. 1 goalie. This postseason showed he can handle a more prominent role with flying colors.

The Bruins’ elite defense and goaltending are two significant factors in why they have the potential to win the Atlantic next season. However, they have also strengthened their roster down the middle with Lindholm and added some solid bottom-six forwards like Max Jones and Mark Kastelic. With this, Boston could be a lot more dangerous than fans believe. This is especially so if players like Trent Frederic, Morgan Geekie, and Fabian Lysell hit new levels in 2024-25.
It will be a lot of fun to see how the Bruins perform next season. On paper, they look stronger on offense and defense, so Boston has the potential to have another good year.
